Game Play
Destroy all of your opponent's character cards in play, or reduce their resources (deck) to zero.
Minimum 1 - 5 Maximum creature cards can be active at any time; unless permitted by the use of specific spell cards. Therefore, the opponent has to choose which target to attack. No attacking order is required. There can be no more than 10 cards in your hand at any given time.

Shield
You must destroy your opponent's shield before you can attack their creatures. A shield can only be destroyed after 4 hits. After it has been completely destroyed, the creatures on the field can be attacked as well as your resources (deck). There are a few exceptions of which your shield can be destroyed sooner, or that your creatures and deck can be attacked. Some creatures' abilities, and spell cards may allow you to bypass attacking the shield and allow you to attack a creature or your resources. While some may simply allow you to hit the shield more than once in a single turn with a single creature.
Creature Cost
There is no Spawn or Attack cost. Each creature card has a level of 1 - 4 which corresponds to the first 4 turns. A level one creature can be played during the 1st turn, a level two creature can be played on the 2nd turn, a level three creature can be on played the 3rd turn, and a level four creature can be played on the 4th turn. After which, cards of any level can be played at any time. Additionally, some creatures may require an evolutionary character to be played first, and the evolved form can only be played if their level matches the turn number or the 4th turn has already happened.

Spell Cards
Some Item cards are quick play, while some types can only be played once per turn, and destroyed after. With the exception of equip cards; for example: Special Weapons, Armor, Spells, etc.
Infirmary
You can place a defeated character card into the infirmary. Once healed, after two full turns, the cards can then be shuffled back into the deck. At most two cards can occupy the infirmary at any time. If any character cards are defeated while two others are in the infirmary, then those cards must be placed in the discard pile. You must choose wisely. The infirmary cannot be attacked.
Starting A Match
Using a game of rock, paper, scissors, flipping a coin, rolling a dice, or a game of odds or even to select who goes first. The winner chooses who goes first.
Both players draw 5 cards into their hand, and the player who goes first will draw a 6th. They may play any creature cards that the first turn permits, as well as any spell cards face down onto the field. No spell cards or attacks can be played during the player one’s first turn.
The 2nd player may play a creature, use their ability (dependent), or use a spell card. They may also attack if equipped with a spell card that allows attacks to be made during the first turn that a creature is played.
Creatures played to the field cannot attack until the players following turn. Dependent on any spell cards. When a creature is set onto the field, they are played in the landscape position, and are flipped into attack position only when your turn has come to an end.
This continues until a winner has been declared.
Phases of Battle
There are 3 phases of play during a players turn:
-
Fielding Phase - During this phase, you can play creature cards, and spell cards onto the field. You may also use certain creature abilities.
-
Attack Phase - During this phase, you may attack your opponent. Your opponent may send defeated cards to the infirmary, use rapid abilities, or play spells.
-
Clean up Phase - Place any destroyed or wounded creatures into their designated locations. Turn ends.
